Barbara Ann Johnson

Barbara A. Johnson, 91, of Duluth, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 29^th, 2024.

She was born January 21^st, 1933, in Duluth to Lawrence and Edna (Sargent) Larson. She was a 1950 graduate of Denfeld High School.

Barb married Kenneth R. Johnson on June 14^th, 1952, in St. James Catholic Church in Duluth. She was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Barb was an active member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, volunteering and participating in numerous clubs and groups. She volunteered at St. Mary’s Medical Center and was avid golfer and member of both the Women’s and Monday Night Couples League at the Pike Lake Auto Club Golf Course. Barb was a former member of the Women’s Bowling League at Stadium Lanes and held one of the highest women’s averages in the city. Barb and Ken enjoyed traveling, having spent winters in Yuma, AZ for 20 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ken; and brothers Robert (Dolores) Larson, Lawrence (Beverly) Larson Jr., and Sargent (Gen) Larson.

Barb is survived by children; Nancie (Chet) Thomas Jr., Craig (Deb) Johnson, Lori (Brian) Peterson, and Kenneth (Sue) Johnson Jr.; grandchildren, Ryan, Christie, Kadee, Nathan, Andrew, Michelle, Sarah, Alyssa, and Natalie; 14 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at St. Lawrence Catholic Church on Tuesday, March 12^th, 2024, with visitation starting at 10 am and Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am.
