Barbara Ann Tuzinski

Barbara Ann Tuzinski, 89, of Aurora, Colorado, formerly of Duluth, passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Aurora Medical Center, Aurora, Colorado. Barbara was born in Duluth, Minnesota on April 26, 1934 to Leo and Anna (Sternal) Tuzinski. She was a 1953 graduate of Denfeld High School. She attended Duluth Business College. Barbara enlisted in the Army Womens Army Corps (WAC) in 1955 and served as a Specialist 6^th Class until she was honorably discharged in 1962.

In 1962 she moved to Colorado and worked at Mercy Hospital in Denver. For 31 years she worked at Fitzsimons Army Hospital in Aurora as a practical nurse. After her retirement in 1995 she worked as a security guard for First Watch Security in Denver.

Barbara’s passion was her love of Boston Terriers. She bred and showed Boston Terriers in the Aurora/Denver area for over 16 years. Barbara had a strong faith. She loved her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed going to the casino and the horse track. She was an avid Denver Broncos fan. She relished a good laugh, a good time, and appreciated a good bottle of Merlot.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Valeria Moran, Lucille Pohl, Irene Hughes and Rosemary Stratioti. She is survived by 11 nieces and nephews including Claudia Moran, Tom (Debbie) Moran, Jerry (Bobbie) Moran, Jim (Lynn) Pohl, Susan(Pohl) MacDonald (Bob), Marie (Hughes) Pavlatos (Mark), Jeff (Cindy) Stratioti, Deb Stratioti Mainella, Michelle (Stratioti) Cosgriff (John), Mark (Lezlie) Stratioti, and Chris Stratioti. She is also survived by cousins and her special friend Eileen Bruce. 

Visitation 10 am until the 11 am funeral service Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at Williams Lobermeier Boettcher Funeral Home. Burial at Oneota Cemetery with Military Honors accorded by the Duluth Honor Guard.
