Bertha Graham

Bertha Christina (Johansen) Graham, 92 years of age, of Duluth, Minnesota, passed away November 28, 2017 at Solvay Hospice House. She was born in Stanberry, Wisconsin to Martin and Marguerite (Williams) Johansen.  She attended school in Springbrook, WI.  She married Robert (Bud) Graham in 1942 and moved to Duluth, MN. Bertha cherished her family and enjoyed providing a welcoming home for them and all their friends throughout her life.  She was a modest, unassuming person who seldom complained.  She was an example to us all of how to live a life of unconditional love.  May she rest in peace. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bud, after 60 years of marriage; sisters, Lucille Johansen, Lillian Badessa, and Ruth Hollis; and brothers, Kenneth and Leonard Johansen. She is survived by her son, Leon M. Graham of Duluth and her daughters, Constance J. (Lyle) Johnson of Duluth and Christina L. Graham of London, England; five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson along with sister-in-law, Mrs. Donna (Leonard) Johansen of Chicago; two nieces, a nephew and many loving extended family members and friends. The family extends a special thanks to Carol and Judy for their years of compassion and care.

Visitation 10 am until the 11 am memorial service Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at the Waters of Life Lutheran Church, 6221 Rice Lake Road, Duluth, MN. Rev. Tim Martenson officiating. Luncheon to follow. Interment at Park Hill Cemetery.
