Bertha Bolme Gudvangen, 94, formerly of Hillcrest Drive, Duluth, died Thursday, October 11, 2012 in the Golden living Center-Linden in Stillwater, Minn. Bertha was born on October 17, 1917 in Norway to Ola and Marit Bolme. She came to Minnesota with her family as a child and attended Ensign Elementary, Lincoln Junior High and graduated from Denfeld in 1937. She attended Young & Hursh Business College in Duluth and worked for City Creamery as a secretary and Northland Coal Company as a bookkeeper. Bertha married Chester Gudvangen on January 27, 1943 in Duluth. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and the Mary Circle. Bertha enjoyed sewing, knitting, crossword puzzles and wintering in Tucson, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister, Inga Johnson and a brother, John Bolme. She is survived by a daughter, Claudia Gudvangen of Maplewood, Minn and many nieces and nephews.
