Beverley "Bev" Joanne (Benson) Semmelroth, 89, of Duluth MN died on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at St Luke's Hospital Duluth, surrounded by her family. Bev was born in Duluth MN to the late Gustav and Anna (Olafson) Benson on February 27, 1931. Bev attended and graduated from Denfeld High School. She furthered her education at UMD and St Mary's School of medical technology. She loved and married Max Semmelroth on November 29, 1952 and they celebrated 66 years together. Bev worked at Nopeming TB Sanatorium, St Mary's Hospital and Medical Arts as a lab technician. Bev's hobbies included: sewing, quilting, gardening, playing bridge, going to the cabin, and enjoyed making Christmas cookies and popcorn balls with her children, grandchildren, and nieces. Bev was a Cub Scout leader, Sunday School teacher at Forbes Church, and active in quilting and soup group. Bev and Max enjoyed traveling together, especially the trip to Europe and spending winters in Arizona. Bev also took a trip on an ore boat on the great lakes, and a cruise on the Panama Canal. Bev was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Trinity Eastern Star # 242, and Volunteer at St Mary's Hospital. She attended Forbes United Methodist Church in Proctor. Bev is preceded in death by her loving husband Max, brother, Richard Benson, Brother in law Cliff Dahl, sister in laws, Doris, Jean and Grace, and grandson, David, Jr. Bev is survived by her sons, David (Debbie) and Tom (Connie); grandchildren Trudi, Sara, Beth, and Jon; and Jon's fiancé Melissa. Great- grandchildren, Tianna, Quentin, Al-Amin, Zoie, Evie, AJ & Zack; brother-in-laws Jim and Al (Donna) and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff of Prim Rose for their excellent care. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Forbes United Methodist Church, or Proctor Historical Society. Memorial service will be grave side at Oneonta Cemetery 6403 Highland Street Duluth, MN on Saturday September 12,2020 at 11 AM with visitation one-hour prior, Order of the Eastern Star Funeral Service to start at 10:45AM.
