Catherine Bennett

Catherine A. Bennett, age 73, Duluth, died Wednesday July 15, 2015 at Viewcrest Health Center. She was born in Duluth on March 26, 1942 to Merrill and Esther Ward. Cathy was a 1960 graduate of Denfeld High School. She married Bryan J. Bennett in Duluth on January 26, 1963. Cathy retired from the Mortgage Loan Dept. at North Shore Bank of Commerce, after many years. After her retirement she was able to follow her passion for crafting, especially making jewelry and sewing for craft shows. She was a very active member of Holy Family Catholic Church, including serving on it's Finance Council and chairing the Fall Festival with her husband. Cathy also volunteered at Viewcrest. Cathy is preceded in death by her parents and brother Merrill Ward Jr.. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Bryan Sr., children Bryan Jr., Scott(Donna) and Jeff(Wanda), grandchildren Joshua, Michael and Tyler, sister Jean Ward Blevins and sister in law Barbara Ward. Visitation Sunday 5-7PM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2430 W. 3rd St, Duluth and continues from 10AM until the 11AM Mass of Christian Burial Monday at Holy Family. Visitors to the Visitation on Sunday should use the 2nd Street entrance to the church parking lot. As per Cathy's request, please, no flowers. "Most flowers make me sneeze and we don't want that to happen at the funeral." Memorials to Holy family, in care of family, are preferred.
