Dale Podemski

Dale J. Podemski, 70, of Duluth, passed away Friday, May 17, 2013 in Essentia Health St. Mary's Hospital. Dale was born in Duluth on November 1, 1942 to Clifford and Frances Podemski. Dale attended Duluth Public Schools, was a 1960 graduate of Denfeld High School and attended DBU. Dale married Charlene Crooks on December 10, 1966 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. He was co-owner of a gas station for 12 years. He retired from Minnesota Power after 26 years of service. Dale was a member and steward for the IBEW Union. He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, the Friars of St. Francis and the Knights of Columbus. He was preceded in death by his parents and stepmother. Dale is survived by his wife, Charlene "Char"; children, Heather (Elliot) Gonzalez, Jodi (Ed) Hamill and Todd (Tiffany) Podemski; three grandchildren, David Hamill, Angelina Hamill and Johnny Podemski; two step-grandchildren, Ishbel Gonzalez and Elias Gonzalez; sister, Darlene (Don) Cich; step-sister, Joan (Jim) Segel; two sisters-in-law, Darlene (Bob) Helmer and Margaret (Gary) Robare; three nieces and one step-niece. Visitation will be from 10 until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, May 23, 2013 in St. Lawrence Catholic Church. 2410 Morris Thomas Rd. Fr William Fider officiating.
