David Jay Frear

David J. Frear, 93, of Proctor, passed away on Friday August 18, 2023, in Diamond Willow Assisted Living, Proctor.  He was born in Rock Rapids, IA on April 27, 1930, to Eugene and Emma Frear.  David had worked as a Diesel Mechanic and a Heavy Equipment Operator.  He was a member of IUOE 49.  He enjoyed gardening, working on cars, eating his wife’s baked goods, watching westerns, and driving his tractor.  David was always worrying about his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Evelyn, brothers Dale and Clifford, and a sister Joyce Marion.

He is survived by his children Dave (Tess) Frear, Jim (Sandy) Frear, Shirley (Mike) Letica, and Dale (Pam) Frear, 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, sisters Delores (Alvin) Berg, June Johnson, and Maryann Marshall, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 11:00AM until the Noon Funeral Service in the United Protestant Church on Tuesday August 22, 2023.  830 88^th Ave. West, Duluth, MN 55808.  Inurnment will be in Oneota Cemetery at a later date.   Arrangements by Williams-Lobermeier-Boettcher Funeral Home.  3208 W. 3^rd St. Duluth, MN 55806.  218-624-1059.
