David Telega

David T. Telega, age 83, Duluth, died December 31, 2013 at Essentia Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was born in Duluth on February 17, 1930 to John and Anna Telega. David was a 1948 graduate of Denfeld High School and an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War. He married Florence Blazejak in Duluth in 1950. David worked for WLSSD for many years, retiring in 1995. He loved watching the Minnesota Twins and the Vikings. He was very proud of his Polish heritage and loved to dance the polka. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, the Friar's of St. Francis, the Kostka Society and the All-American Club. David was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers Eugene and Robert and sister Anna Mae Bjorlin. He is survived by his daughters Patricia(Ed) Soderberg, Terease(Jim)Caywood, sons Daniel(Cindy) and Thomas(Shawna), all of Duluth, 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to thank the staff of Viewcrest Health Center for the care they gave him. Visitation Sunday , 5-7PM with Rosary by the Friar's of St. Francis at 6:30PM, all at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2430 W. 3rd St., Duluth. Visitation continues from 10AM until the 11AM Mass of Christian Burial Monday at Holy Family. Burial at Polish Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements by Williams-Lobermeier-Boettcher Funeral Home.
