Deborah Anne "Debi" McLeod, 67, of Proctor, died peacefully Saturday, Oct. 26, 2019, in Solvay Hospice House, surrounded by those who loved her. She was born on Sept. 8, 1952 in Duluth to Dr. Franklin H. and Anne (Portegys) Dickson. Her father, Dr. Dickson was a long time family physician in Proctor. Debi was a lifelong Proctor resident. She was a home care provider for many years and devoted many years of her life caring for her mother, Anne. Debi was a graduate of Duluth Cathedral High School. She enjoyed attending sporting events for her sons and grandchildren. She enjoyed baking, gardening and family dinners. Her greatest joy was spending time at the family cabins at Aerie Lake, Alborn and then Big Sawbill Lake in Ontario. Above all, family was most important. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Peter, Michael, Jack, Frank and Tom Dickson. Debi is survived by her husband, David "Scotty"; sons, Scott (Heidi) of Saginaw and Mike (Janeece Johnson) of Gilbert; sister, Vicki (Brian) Blauer of Sartell, MN; grandchildren, Nolan and Neelah McLeod; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wayne "Scotty" and Joyce McLeod of Duluth; her beloved dog, Remy; and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to Essentia Hospice and Solvay Hospice House, for the wonderful care given to Debi. A special thank’s to her Oncologist, Dr. Nikcevich and his nurse, Julie, for their loving care. A gathering of family and friends, to celebrate Debi's life, will from 5-8 PM Friday, Nov. 1, 2019, in Williams-Lobermeier-Boettcher Funeral Home, 3208 West 3rd Street.
