Delphine "Dell" Mankowski, 90, formerly of West Duluth, went to her "happy home" to be with her precious Lord, Jesus on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at Keystone Bluffs surrounded by her family. She was born on November 16, 1924 to Frank and Rozalia Kuznia in Stephen, MN. Dell married Chester Mankowski on October 26, 1946 in St. Mary's Star Of The Sea Catholic Church. She had worked for Bridgeman's Creamery and was a "Lunch Lady" at Denfeld and Laura McArthur for many years. Dell was a very devout catholic and former member of St James Catholic Church, the St Margaret Guild and Lady Foresters. She is a member of St Lawrence Catholic Church. Dell enjoyed working on jigsaw puzzles, crocheting, playing bingo at Keystone, and was a wonderful Polish cook. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Chester in 1998, 10 siblings and two son-in-laws, Walter Jenny and Todd Stewart. She is survived by three daughters, Louise Jenny, Del (Scott)Schowalter and Gerri (Jack) Henderson all of Duluth; a son, Tim (Anita) of Cook, MN; grandchildren, Natalie (Chris) Busch, Stephanie (Jim) Gottschald, Alicia (Charlie Carlson) Mankowski, Matt (Melissa) Stewart, Christina (Tony) Hansen, Tiffany and Kyle Schowalter, Peter (Rachel) Mankowski, John (Emily Mohr) Mankowski, Lindsey (Shawn) Aubol, Aaron and Lauren Henderson; great-grandchildren, Kathrine and Nolan Busch, Kendra, Megan, Hannah and Olivia Gottschald, Wyatt and Evan Mankowski, Xari, Zefrym and Neven Mankowski, Evie and Wyatt Hermes-Stewart, Hope and Elyse Aubol and baby girl on the way; and her best friend forever, "sister" Viola LaTour. Dell's family would like to thank all family and friends for their support and prayers, her friends and awesome staff at Keystone Bluffs, and Dr Daniel Nikcevich, Dr Michael Whitcomb and Denise, Essentia Health Hospice and Fr Bill Fider for giving her strength for her final journey. Visitation 5 to 7 pm Thursday, with Rosary Prayers at 6:30 pm, visitation will continue from 10 until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial Friday all at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 2410 Morris Thomas Rd.
