Dennis L. Burke, 79, of Duluth passed away 11/18/2021 surrounded by his loved ones, after a month long battle of breakthrough covid. He was born 11/9/1942 to Wayne and Ila Burke. After graduating from Central High School, he entered into the barber trade, having a long and rewarding career. He married Nancy Heikkinen and started a family. He loved the outdoors- camping, hunting, pontooning, fishing, golfing and spending time with family and friends. He also was a member of the Air National Guard serving 7 yrs. Helping others and being part of the community was also important to him. He was also very active in the Kiwanis organization. After the passing of his wife, he was lucky enough to find another, Sherry, to help fill his life with love, companionship and adventure. He was very personable with a quick smile, whit and strong opinions. Always working hard and playing hard. He will be missed so very much. He was preceded in death by his Father Wayne, Mother Ila, Brother Vern, Step-Father Glen Verceline, Wife Nancy. He is survived by Daughters Kim (Mike) Mellinger of Sturgeon Lake, Kelly Monahan of Duluth, Cindy Curtis of Canyon; Sisters Bev McIntosh & Joann (Greg) Drickhammer of Duluth; Grandchildren Dustin, Courtney, Steph, Mike, Tyler, Haley, Connor, Kori, Kalee; Great-Grandson Carter; Life Partner Sherry Harold & family Robin (Darin) & Max Glenn, Al (Tina) & Kaity Harold; and many relatives & friends and his fur baby Buddy.
