Dennis Dwain McDonald, age 89 of Eden Prairie, and formerly of Duluth, MN died on Wednesday, April 12th at Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN. He was born on February 18, 1934 to parents, Alexander & Pearl (née LaLonde) in Duluth, MN. He was a graduate of Denfeld High School and lived in Duluth for many years. Dennis and his wife, Judith, moved to the Twin Cities in 1996 after she was transferred for work. He has lived in the Twin Cities ever since. He was a cherished employee at the Cosmopolitan Apartments in St. Paul, working there into his 80’s. Whether it was his laugh, personality, or harmonica, Dennis always knew how to fill a room. This allowed him to make friends wherever he went. Dennis loved to cheer on his favorite MN sports teams.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Alexander & Pearl McDonald; wife of 47 years, Judith Ann McDonald; siblings, Jack, Billy, Bobby, and Marilyn. He is survived by his partner, Lois Kdarmas; children, Patty D’Abato, Darla (Mike) Higgins, Dennis McDonald, Laurie Moss, Brady McDonald, and Stacey Backlund; as well as an honorary daughter, Jennifer (Jeffrey) Anderson Mrozik; sisters, Jessie (Toppy) Taylor and Lenore (Susie) Keeley; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many close friends.
Visitation: Saturday, April 29th at 10:00 am until a Memorial Service at 11:00 am in the Williams Lobermeier Boettcher Funeral Home, 3208 W 3rd St, Duluth, MN 55806.
