Dennise M. DeMars

Dennise M. DeMars (Gonue), 58, of Duluth, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2022 at her residence. She was born on November 7, 1963 in Duluth and attended East High School graduating in 1982. Dennise married Glenn DeMars on July 5, 1997 in Duluth. That same year Dennise earned her P & C License and went on to work at J3 as a Personal Lines Account Manager.

Dennise loved creating arts and crafts, and was the only one whose baking came close to Grandma’s. Her skills in the kitchen were well known, and her coffee cake and pot roast have become family favorites. She would often become so swept up in the baking of Christmas cookies that supplies would stretch well into February.  Dennise’s love of cooking reflected her enormous heart and endless compassion for those she loved. Her Sunday dinners, where family was anyone who sat at her table, was her way to express the endless love she felt for those lucky enough to know her. She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Ruth Cornelia Roleff and her mother, Kathleen Gonhue.

She is survived by her husband, Glenn, Son, Jack, brother David (Yvonne) Gonhue, Chosen Family Sam and Josh Halligan (William & Maddy), Jamie and Alyssa Avery (Harlen), and many extended family and friends.
