Dianne Myrum

Dianne Yvonne Myrum 79, of Duluth, MN, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2019, after a stroke earlier in the week. Diane was predeceased by her parents Roy & Hjordis Scheets.  She is survived by daughter, Kathy (Jim) Esson of Duluth, Kevin (Jean) Myrum of Bemidji, her brother Robert (Donna) Scheets and 2 grandchildren, Trevor Esson of Duluth, MN  & Amber (Mike Bryant) Myrum and great-granddaughter Peyton Bryant of Pierre SD, niece's Susan (Scheets) Ramaswamy and Karen (Scheets) Helgestad.
Diane was born on December 6, 1939 to Roy & Hjordis Scheets in Rugby, ND. The family moved to Devils Lake, ND where Diane graduated from Devil Lakes H.S in 1959. Later the family moved to Thief River Falls, MN where Diane went on to study cosmatology at Thief River Falls Technical College.

In 1960, Diane met Tenny Myrum and they married on May 6th 1961 and settled in Hibbing, MN  going on to have 2 children, Kathy & Kevin.  Diane worked in the cosmotology field for several years as a salon stylist, and salon manager at various salons, and later went on to become an entreprenuer & salon business owner at her 'Red Carpet Beauty Salon' in  Nashwauk MN.  Diane later moved to the Twin Cities and worked in manuafucturing before retiring in Hibbing, MN.  Diane loved adventure and travel and reminisced of flying in the famous Red Baron open plane to her favorite trip to Hawaii.  She was a creative individual that loved painting wildlife & flowers and creating gifts for family and friends. Diane was an outgoing, fun-loving, independently strong woman who loved her family and friends just as much.  In her early retirement, Diane was an active volunteer coordinator at the Hibbing MN Range Art Center working with the young and old alike in various mediums of art. Diane enjoyed sewing along with Rosemaling & Watercolor painting. She moved to Duluth 10 years ago and Diane loved to go play Bingo with friends.

Her life will be celebrated at Elim Lutheran Church, 6101 Cody St., Duluth MN, on Saturday, June 8, 2019.  Visitation at 10:00am, Service at 11:00, Social following.
