Doris Berryhill Granger, 93, was born June 1, 1927 in Rice Lake, WI, to Floyd and Goldie Van Valkenburg. She passed away in Duluth, MN on August 13, 2020, after a brief illness. Doris graduated from Chetek High School in 1945 and from the Luther Hospital School of Nursing in Eau Claire, WI as a Registered Nurse in 1948. She was a member of the Cadet Nurse Corps in World War II. Doris moved to Duluth in 1950 and went to work at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was a nursing supervisor until she took early retirement in 1984. She then worked part-time at Lake Haven Manor until retiring in 1994. Doris was active in the former Bethany United Methodist Church, the PTA (Parent Teacher Association), AFS (American Field Service), and as a volunteer for the American Cancer Society in the Reach to Recovery program. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepmother Anne Van Valkenburg, her first husband Donald G. Berryhill in 1970, and her second husband Cletus K. Granger in 2002. She is survived by her daughter Ann (Charles) Arn, of Glendora, CA, sons Dennis (Sandi) Berryhill, of Duluth, and Douglas (Nancy) Berryhill of Longmont, CO., brother Jack (Sharon) Van Valkenburg, of Bloomer, WI, and cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom she dearly loved. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 16, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Williams, Lobermeier, Boettcher Funeral Home. MASKS ARE REQUIRED with social distancing.
