Dustin Newton

November 22, 1989 — January 18, 2020

Dustin William Newton, 30, of Duluth, died Saturday, January 18, 2020. He was born on November 22, 1989 in Robbinsdale, MN to Terry Newton and Jodie Lunke. Dustin grew up in Duluth and graduated with his HS Diploma. He attended LSC, completing a course in auto body repair along with some generals. He worked at the Pickwick bussing tables, Stepping Stones for Living as a PCA, and was a US Postal Carrier at the time of his death. He loved people, helping people, fishing, spending time with friends and his family, going to the cabin, shopping, cooking and going out to eat. And cake; he loved cake. Dustin was a charismatic young man that, at all times, had a smile and, “Hello there, How ya doin?” Some of his other favorite lines were, “Me Too” and “I’m down for that”. He brought joy to so many, but was unable to bring that joy to himself, although he tried. No one would suspect that he suffered and struggled from depression. He is loved by many and will sorely be missed by those who loved him. He was preceded in death by great-grandfather, Rolland Royer; an unborn child and a nephew, David. He is survived by a son, Elijah Kulas of Superior, WI; great-grandmother, Marcella Royer of Hermantown; maternal grandparents, Marlene and Jerry Lunke of Duluth; his mother, Jodie Lunke of Duluth; his father, Terry Lee (Kay) Newton of Eunice, NM; a brother, Joel Kullhem of Hamburg, MN; a sister, Cassaundra (Matt Lafontaine) of Duluth; his foster family, Toni, Terry and Darren Drake of Duluth; foster brother, Will Buffington of Fargo, ND; nieces and nephews, Cameron, Natalie, Arabella, Niko and Rolland. Visitation 10 a.m until the 11 a.m. Celebration of Life service Saturday, January 25, 2020 at the Central Assembly of God Church, 3000 Hammond Ave. Pastor Ron Allen officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery, Duluth in the spring. Arrangements by Williams Lobermeier Boettcher Funeral Home.
