Eleonore "Lore" Dixon, 91, of Duluth, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Chris Jensen Health and Rehabilitation Center. Lore was born on November 21, 1927 in Munich, Germany to Anton and Elisabeth Kummerle. Lore married Otis Dixon on April 18, 1948 in Munich, Germany, returning to the United States to raise their family. Lore and Otis were founding members of St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Throughout her life, she volunteered with St. Mary's Hospice, Union Gospel Mission, Lighthouse for the Blind and was a ski instructor for the Challenge Center. Lore cherished her daily walks around Duluth. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Mark; her husband, Otis. She is survived by her children, Stephan (Diane) of Oklahoma City, Ingrid (Frank) Le Fevre of Saginaw, MN, Christopher (Eileen) of Hermantown, Lukas (Dawnette) of Moose Lake and Matthew (Gina) of Superior; 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Visitation 10 until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. 2410 Morris Thomas Road. Rev Fr Ryan Moravitz officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Memorials to the Union Gospel Mission would be appreciated. Arrangements by Williams Lobermeier Boettcher Funeral Home.
