Florence Borg

Florence Alvida (Nolin) Borg, 92 years and 66 days, passed away on May 28, 2020 from sepsis. She was born in Midway Township on March 23, 1928 to Emil and Dora Nolin. She married Eugene E. Borg on January 24, 1947. Florence worked at Nopeming Sanatorium and was a member of Salem Covenant Church and later Pine Hill Lutheran Church. Florence enjoyed helping by seeing to the needs of many people, delivering meals and taking them to their appointments. She was a servant to everyone. She greatly enjoyed her grandchildren and was known as “Grandma Cookie”.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene; infant daughter, Barbara; brothers, Leroy and Donald Nolin and sisters, Ethel Albertson and Mary Anderson. She is survived by her children, Tom (Jan) Borg of Spring, TX, Everette (Sandy) Borg of McCalla, AL, Richard (Sue) Borg of Duluth, Gerald (Lynn) Borg of Aledo, IL, James Borg of Saginaw, MN and Barbara Borg of Taconite, MN; a sister, Virginia Sandholm of Roseville, MN; a brother, John (Karen) Nolin and sister-in-law, Geri Nolin both of Duluth; 19 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Visitation 10 am until the 11 am memorial service Saturday, July 25, 2020 at the Midway Town Hall, 3230 Midway Road. Pastor Steven Obsorne officiating. The service will be a combined memorial with her sister, Martha Snyder, 89, who died just 7 days after Florence. Her son, Lee Snyder will officiate. Please honor our family’s wishes by wearing a mask. Masks will be provided if necessary. Burial at Augustana Lutheran Cemetery. Arrangements by Williams Lobermeier Boettcher Funeral Home.
