Frank R. Vegar, 97, of Duluth, died Thursday, February 29, 2024 in the Solvay Hospice House with family by his side. Frank was born on October 5, 1926 in Duluth to John and Katherine Vegar. He was a Navy Veteran serving in World War II and worked for U.S. Steel in Morgan Park until it closed in 1979 at which time he retired. He was a talented accordion player. Frank was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John and Joe; wife, Louise; and son-in-law, Ron Seguin. He is survived by his son, Kevin (Sue) Vegar; daughter, Kim Seguin; granddaughters, Heather (Alan) Herman, Jenna Seguin (Ryan Dodge), Katie (Sam) Rosen; grandson, Mike (Nicole) Vegar; great-grandchildren, Carter, Braden, Dorian, Mila, Jackson, Keenan, Jack, Bellamy, Luke and Jesse. Memorials to Solvay Hospice House would be appreciated. A celebration of Frank’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Williams Lobermeier Boettcher Funeral Home.
