Irena Miltakis, 89, of Duluth, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 13, 2020 with her precious angel Riley by her side.
Irena was born on December 9, 1931 and then came to the United States from Poland in 1960 with her husband and three small boys and while here, her fourth son was born. Irena was employed as a housekeeper at St. Luke’s Hospital for 21 years, retiring in 1995.
She loved to cook for her family, garden, sew, and dance; oh, how she loved to Polka Dance. She also had the most beautiful flower gardens and vegetable gardens.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Stephanie Jankowski; husband, John 1979; and the love of her life, Donald Kerr.
Irena is survived by sons, Richard, Tony (LuAnne), John (Deb) and Henry (Lisa); 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; with one more due in April. She loved her children and grandchildren dearly.
The family would like to thank the staff at Diamond Willow for their wonderful and loving care of Irena.
She will be sadly missed by the family but welcomed with open arms from all her loved ones waiting to see her again.
Mass of Christian Burial will start at 11AM, Monday, December 21, 2020 with visitation one-hour prior at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2430 W 3rd St, Duluth, MN 55806. Burial to take place in Polish Catholic Cemetery.
