JacobJacob David “Jake” Zimmerman, 74, of Duluth, died Sunday, May 2, 2021 of Lung Cancer. Jake was born in Duluth on April 4, 1947 to Jacob and Betty (Moos) Zimmerman. Jake was a decorated Army Veteran serving during Vietnam. He married Rose Blankush on May 18, 1973 at St. James Catholic Church. Jake worked at Moline Machinery for over 37 years. He enjoyed fishing and collecting anything to do with Wolves. Jake loved his family, especially spending time with his grandchildren. He was Eucharistic Minister at St. James and St. Michaels for many years. He was always willing to help anyone who needed a hand. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mary Pettersen and a brother, David Zimmerman. Jake is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Rose; two sons, Jacob III and Christ (Kate); a sister, Clarice (Ramsey) Forbush; grandchildren, Dominik and Elsie; many nieces and nephews. A celebration of Jake’s life and Memorial Mass will be held at 11:30 AM, Saturday, July 31, 2021 at St. James Catholic Church. 721 North 57th Ave West. Rev Fr Richard Kunst officiating.
