James Julius "Toby" Bang
James J Bang went to our Lord on Mon Nov 19, 2013. He was born in Erie, Pa., on April 14, 1939 to Julius and Mary (Hillman) Bang. He graduated valedictorian at Catheral High School 1957. He was a graduate of Notre Dame Univ. and Northwestern Law School. He married JoAnn Therese Kwilas on Nov 11, 1961. He practiced law in Duluth, MN. Early in his career he was an Assistant County Attorney, ran a successful practice for many years and had a passion for the Volunteer Attorney Program. He was an avid golfer, stamp collector, model railroader and woodworker. Some of his projects were a grandfather clock, teak patio set, and 2 one-man sail boats. Jim loved to cook and was a masterful storyteller. He was preceeded in death by his parents, the mother of his children JoAnn Bang, and his sons James Julius Bang Jr and Donald Bang. He is survived by his sister Margaret Bang, children Kathleen (Ed) Steenblock, Therese (Jeff) Webber, Helen (Kerry) Buckle, Louis (Deniece) Bang, Gennie Carlson, and Fredrich-Otto Bang, 10 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren, 1 expected great grandchild. Visitation Friday 5PM-7PM with Wake Service 6:30PM all at Williams-Lobermeier-Boettcher Funeral Home. Visitation continues from 1PM until the 2PM Funeral Service Saturday November 23, at Williams-Lobermeier-Boettcher Funeral Home. Burial at Calvary Cemetery.
