Janice(Dahl)Montgomery, age 80, Duluth, passed away May 14, 2017. She was born in Duluth on November 11, 1936 to Harvey and Eleanor(Kinsman)Dahl. Janice attended Emerson Elementary, Washington Jr. and was a graduate of Duluth Denfeld High School. She had worked at Loon Lake Lodge on the Gunflint Trail, Woolworths, Norshor Theater, Kars Bar and then spent 36 years at ISD 709, with most of that time as a family service worker with the Head Start Program. Following retirement in 1999 Janice volunteered as the scheduler for Kids Closet until 2015. She also volunteered at the Salvation Army, Chum Food Shelf and St. Ann’s. She was welcomed into heaven by her parents Harvey Dahl and Eleanor Tatum, step father Fred Tatum, sister Patty Tatum, brother Harvey Dahl, Jr., grandparents Hans and Anne Dahl and Joseph and Victoria Kinsman, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends and special friends Chris, Mavis, Fern and Vivian. Janice is survived by her husband Dick, son Rick(Anna)Montgomery and their children Mario(Katrina), their daughters Leona and Ivy, Eric(Shelly), Brenna(Paul)Montgomery, son David Montgomery, daughter Paula Linne and her children Tia and Derek, son John(Becky)Montgomery and their son Conner, all of Duluth, brother Roger(Shirley)Dahl, sisters Judy(Larry)Smith, in TN, Joan Lafontaine, Duluth, and many nieces,nephews and great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation 10AM until the 12:00 Noon funeral service Saturday May 20, 2017 at the Salvation Army Chapel, 215 So 27th Ave. West, Duluth. Burial at Park Hill Cemetery. Williams-Lobermier Boettcher Funeral Home is entrusted with final care.
