Joyce Mae Park

d. January 16, 2025

Duluth

Joyce Mae Park (Boissonault) passed away on January 16, 2025 at Solvay Hospice House at the age of 91. She was born in Duluth, Minnesota, on February 6, 1933, to Joseph and Marie (Vavra) Boissonault, the fifth of five children.

Joyce graduated from Denfeld High School in 1950 and her early employment was with the Coolerator Company in West Duluth and downtown. Later her work career was primarily in the railroad industry, with her longest service in the Sales Department of the Soo Line Railroad Company in Duluth and Superior. She also worked for the Duluth Convention & Visitors Bureau, now known as Visit Duluth. Joyce retired in 1996.

She was an active long-standing member of her church and very devoted in her faith to God. Joyce was also a former volunteer at Miller-Dwan and St. Eligius and a former member of the National Association of Railway Business Women.

Joyce married Charles Park in Duluth on June 16, 1956, at Central Avenue Methodist Church, now known as Asbury United Methodist Church. They were together for over 60 years.

Joyce enjoyed spending time with her family, attending plays, reading, and traveling with Charles in their RV. One of their traveling highlights was flying to London, England, and returning to Duluth on the Concorde at the time of the 1987 Air Show. However, Joyce’s greatest happiness was being able to spend time with her great-grandchildren, Max and Aidan, who were the joy of her life. She will be remembered by her love and generosity to her family and friends. Her compassion and thoughtfulness will be truly missed.

Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles, sisters Harriet Hartley and Isabelle Brennan, brothers Howard Diebel and Gerald Boissonault, and son-in-law Jeffery Muellner.

She will be forever remembered by family and friends and is survived by daughter Cheryl Muellner, granddaughter Angelique (Peter) Thibault, great-granddaughter Max and great-grandson Aidan.

Service will be at Asbury UMC, 6822 Grand Avenue, on Saturday, February 15, 2025 with visitation one hour prior to the 11 AM service. Memorials may be directed to the church. Burial will be at Oneota Cemetery.
