Larry David Sams, 72, of Duluth, died Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at St. Luke’s Hospice surrounded by his family. He was born in Duluth on July 9, 1946 to Glen and Evelyn (Archambeau) Sams. Larry was a 1965 graduate of Denfeld High School and served in the Army National Guard. He retired from AmeriPride where he was a route salesman. Larry loved old cars, watching stock car racing and Professional Wrestling. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at Island Lake. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Doris Johnson. He is survived by two sisters, Dorothy (George) Lee of Duluth and Cindy (Steve) Eggleston of Westbrook, ME; a brother, Ray (Georgianne) Sams of Duluth; a brother-in-law, Lloyd Johnson of Duluth; his extended family, JoAnne Liimatta of Superior and her children, Jason Liimatta, Jerel (Bettina) Liimatta and Michelle Liimatta all of Superior, WI; Larry was grandpa to Madison, Jordyn, Caden, Robert and Karina; Larry also has many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Luke’s ICU and Hospice for the wonderful care provided. Visitation 10 until the 11 a.m. Funeral Service Monday, June 24, 2019 in Williams Lobermeier Boettcher Funeral Home, 3208 West 3rd Street. Pastor Jim Hagen officiating. Burial at Oneota Cemetery.
