Lester Keith Pearson, 89, passed away peacefully at New Perspective Memory Care in Superior. Born June 22, 1929 to Mauritz and Grace Pearson, Les was a 1948 graduate of Central High School, lifelong Duluth resident, retiring from the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier for 31 years. Les was an Army veteran who served with distinction during the Korean War era. He was a member of Salem Covenant Church where he faithfully served the Lord. He was a faithful, gentle, kind, honest, soft-spoken, true friend. Les had a great sense of humor and loved to tell jokes. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing volleyball with his brother and friends. His passion for golf and bowling won him many awards. He loved getting together with family and friends for coffee. Lester was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Lois Anderson; a brother, Merle (Mike) Pearson; a brother-in-law, Bruce Anderson; a nephew-in-law, Jim Barnes and a niece-in-law, Joanne Anderson. Les will be greatly missed by a sister-in-law, Jerona (Leo) Frazey of Duluth and South Texas; nieces and nephews, Larry (Joy) Pearson, Shereen (Gene) Hill, Lance (Barb) Pearson, Diane (Bob) Hansen, Tim (Laura) Anderson and Steve Anderson all of Duluth and Debby (Tim) Price of Tucson, AZ; and grand nieces and nephews. Visitation at 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service Saturday, June 1, 2019 in Salem Covenant Church, 339 North 59th Ave West. Pastor Steve Osborne officiating. Burial at Park Hill Cemetery. Military Honors accorded by the Duluth Honor Guard. Memorials to Salem Covenant Church would be appreciated. Arrangements by Williams Lobermeier Boettcher Funeral Home.
