Lorraine M. Poissant, 95, of Duluth, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at Viewcrest Health Center. Lorraine was born on June 28, 1923 in Duluth to Albert and Lada (Gauthier) Poissant. She graduated from St. Jean Baptiste Catholic School in Duluth. She was a member of St. Jean’s Catholic Church and for the last 30 years resided at Viewcrest Health Center where she attended Mass. Lorraine enjoyed reading, crafting, sewing, quilting and above all else, she loved the Lord. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Dorothy Poissant, Olive Martineau and Genevieve Slatten; a brother, Albert Poissant; a niece, Virginia Slatten. Lorraine is survived her nieces and nephews, Phyllis (Pete) Ciurleo, Hope (David) Solomon, Dawn (Art) Rask, Ken Slatten, Rick (Deb) Slatten and Tom (Louise) Slatten all of Duluth; several great-nieces and great-nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Viewcrest Health Center and Essentia Health Hospice for the wonderful care they provided to Lorraine. Visitation 10 until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial Monday, April 29, 2019 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 2410 Morris Thomas Road. Rev Fr Ryan Moravitz officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Memorials to the Parish Nuns, The Handmaids of The Heart Of Jesus, 2430 West 3rd Street, would be appreciated. Arrangements by Williams Lobermeier Boettcher Funeral Home.
