Margaret “Margie” Swanson Hanson, age 96, Duluth, died March 14, 2014 at her home. She was born in Duluth on April 30, 1917 to Stanley and Mary Jezierski. She was a graduate of Denfeld High School. Margie had worked at the Garon Knitting Mill, Hartman’s Bakery, Johnson’s Bakery and retired from Ideal Bakery in 1977. She married Arthur Swanson in 1942. Arthur died in 1962 and Margie then married Arthur Hanson in 1973. Arthur died in 2006. Margie loved working outdoors and had many flower and vegetable gardens. She also loved to cook and make Christmas and Easter Crafts for her grandchildren. Margie was a Charter Member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, VFW Post 137 Aux., American Legion Post 71 Aux. and Life Member of the Veterans of the 12th Armd. Div. Aux. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, son Dennis Swanson, brothers Bill, George, Eddie and Buddy and sisters Vernie Bloomstrom, Marion Lee, Marcella Jezierski and Lucille Ujdur. Margie is survived by her daughter Dianne Leitzke, Duluth, Grandchildren Debra Vargason and Darcy(Todd) Redenbaugh, both of Dululth, Dena(John)Rood, of Brooklyn Park, MN, great-grandchildren, Jessica, Michelle, Nicole, Shane, John, Jada , Jevon and Jayce and sister Patsy Royer, Hermantown. Visitation 10AM until the 11AM Mass Of Christian Burial Wednesday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 2410 Morris Thomas Road, Duluth. Burial at Polish Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements by Williams-Lobermeier-Boettcher Funeral Home.
