Martha Nelson

Martha M. Nelson, 92, Duluth, died October 8, 2012 at home with her family. She was born in Duluth on December 5, 1919 to Boye and Sophie Dahl. She was baptized in the Lutheran Church on January 15, 1920 and confirmed in the Lutheran Church on June 9, 1935. Martha was a graduate of Duluth Central High School and the Duluth Business College. She married Floyd M. Nelson in Duluth on December 4, 1948. She had worked at the Coolerator Plant and later at the Piedmont Plaza. Martha was a member of Shepherd Of The Hills Lutheran Church and former member of Christ Lutheran Church and it's Mary Circle. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother Arthur M. Dahl. Martha is survived by her sons Darrel, Jerry and Dan, all of Duluth, grandchildren Joseph(Jacklyn)Nelson, Eden Prairie, David(Jill Plotnik )Nelson, Superior and Amy Nelson, Duluth and great-grandson Oliver Kellis. The family would like to thank Dr. Kerns and Dr. Knutson, nurses Beth and Michele at the Hermantown Duluth Clinic, Jeannie and all the staff at St. Mary's Hospice and Pastor Matthew DeNoyer. Visitation 11AM until the noon service Thursday at Shepherd Of The Hills Lutheran Church,802 Maple Grove Road, Duluth. Burial at Park Hill Cemetery.
