Mary Peterson

Mary O. Peterson, 93, formerly of Harvey St, died Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at Viewcrest Health Center. Mary was born on May 13, 1922 to William and Christine Peterson in Cotton, Minn. She attended school in Cotton, Minn. She married Ray Peterson in Cotton on April 13, 1946 and they started their family. Mary was very active at Lincoln Park Baptist Church, formerly Temple Baptist, where she taught Sunday school, served as a deaconess. Mary enjoyed sewing, knitting, gardening and spending time with her family and friends. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ray; three brothers and five sisters; a grandson, Kyle Nienaber; a great-grandson, Connor Robison. Mary is survived by her daughters, Alvina (Gerald) Olson of Waverly, Iowa, Louella (Ronald) Heckathorn of Hermantown and Kristine (Kent) Nienaber of Ham Lake, Minn; a son, Arlan (Ruth) of Duluth; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff at Viewcrest Health Center for the wonderful care provided to Mary. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2016 in Williams Lobermeier Boettcher Funeral Home and will continue from 12 noon until the 1 p.m. funeral service Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Lincoln Park Community Church, 2202 West 3rd St. Pastor Tait Hoglund officiating.
