Mary Tessier

Mary Hope Tessier, 85, of Kingston Road, died Friday, February 6, 2015 in St. Luke's Hospice. Hope was born on August 21, 1929 in Duluth to Ivan and Pauline (Carlson) Gilbert. She married Arthur A. Tessier on July 22, 1950 in Duluth and was a homemaker and a loving and devoted wife and mother. Hope was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, V.F.W. Auxiliary Post 137 and the Lake Superior Chapter of American ex-pow's. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Daniel Paul Tessier; sisters, Joyce Gilbert, Lois Swenson and Nancy "Betty" Jacobson; brothers, Ira John Gilbert, Ivan Earl Gilbert Jr. and Rev Bertrand Gilbert; her husband, Arthur; a son, Thomas Arthur Tessier. Hope is survived by her daughters, Paulette Tessier and Leanne (Burt Beyer) Tessier both of Duluth; a son, Gerald Tessier of Duluth; a brother, Rev. Charles (Alta) Gilbert of Spirit Lake, Iowa; eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and four great- great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in Williams Lobermeier Boettcher Funeral Home and will continue from 10 until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial Thursday in St. John's Catholic Church, 4230 St. John's Ave. Rev Fr Richard Kunst officiating.
