Michael George Coombes, 70, passed away peacefully on June 24th at St. Luke's Hospital. Michael was born November 9, 1951, in Duluth to Jules and Patricia Coombes. He was a graduate of Denfeld High School class of 1969. Michael enjoyed the outdoors, was an avid reader of history and appreciated classical music. Michael took pride serving as Union President for National Iron Local 1480 U.S. Steel.
Michael was preceded in death and now will be joining his Grandparents and his father (Jules).
Michael with be remembered lovingly by his mother, Patricia Coombes; sisters: Cynthia (Pete) King and Deborah (Ray) Coombes.
Michael is survived by his two sons: Trevor (Lea) Coombes and Nathan Coombes; two grandchildren: Oliver and Zachary Coombes; many aunts, an uncle, nieces and nephews, and longtime friend Gary (Diana) Clauson.
The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff from St. Luke’s 2nd and 7 west for the care and compassion shown to our loved one.
Services will be held Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at Williams-Lobermeier-Boettcher, 3208 West 3rd Street with visitation at 10:00 a.m. A prayer service will be held at 11:00 a.m. following interment at Oneota Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Michael would like any donations to go to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
