Naomi C. Hammer, 89, of Duluth, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at St. Luke’s Hospice with her family by her side. She was born on March 26, 1930 in Duluth to George and Alverta Clancy. Naomi was a 1948 graduate of Denfeld High School and married Ronald Hammer on March 17, 1950 in Duluth. In her younger years, Naomi worked for 3M, where she was voted Fall Princess. She also worked at Bridgeman’s, the St. Luke’s Hospital kitchen, and later worked and retired from Sears Dept. Store. Naomi was an avid gardener, seamstress and cook. She was known for hosting dinners and BBQ’s, and loved celebrating her Irish heritage. She was always at her happiest when surrounded with her family – especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Gordon Westrom, a sister, Patricia Arnett, and two brothers, John and George Clancy. Naomi is survived by her husband of 69 years, Ronald; three daughters, Linda (Larry) Rein, Laurie (Phil) Gaudino, and Lisa Hammer, all of Duluth; a sister, Carol Trensch of IL; grandchildren, Jody (Chris) P’Simer, Chanda (Andrew) Futey, John Erickson (Sara Brunk), and Matthew (Awah) Erickson; great-grandchildren, Aidan, Ryder, Calvin, Ryan, Amelia, Clara, and Stephen; grand fur-babies, Quincy, Myla, Clancy, and MayBelle. A Celebration of Life Open House will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Williams Lobermeier Boettcher Funeral Home, 3208 W. Third Street in Duluth.
