Nellie Maki

Nellie Mary Maki, 97, of Duluth, formerly of Hibbing for over 50 years, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2019. Nellie was born March 28, 1921 to Rose and Joseph Valentine. She married Lee Fawcett in 1940 and Roy Maki in 1979. Nellie was so special to so many of us.  She was the kindest, sweetest, most generous sole around.  She did everything she could for everyone.  She was amazingly beautiful inside and out.  She enjoyed spending time with family including her children and many grandchildren.   She was an amazing cook and loved to make a good Italian dish of rigatoni.  She spent her later years enjoying shopping and always liked getting her beautiful hair done with a color and permanent just as she did three days before she passed.  She will hold a special place in our hearts.  She was a former member of St Peter’s Catholic Church. Proceeded in death by husband, Lee Fawcett; husband, Roy Maki; sister,  Isabelle Mamone; brothers, Pat, Frank and Mike Valentine; daughter-in-law, Joyce Fawcett and granddaughter, TaRasa Larsen. Survived by sons, Lee (Marilyn) Fawcett, Kenny Fawcett, Ray (Jackie) Fawcett; daughter, Debra Fawcett; step children, David, Linda and Brenda, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

We will be celebrating her life on her birthday Thursday March 28, 2019, 11 a.m.  at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 2410 Morris Thomas Road. Rev Fr William Fider officiating. Burial at Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements by Williams Lobermeier Boettcher Funeral Home.
