Nora Hall

Nora June Hall, 5 months, of Duluth, passed away Monday, May 2, 2016 at the Children's Hospital in Minneapolis. Nora was born on November 6, 2015 in Duluth to John and Mary (Beckwell) Hall. Though she came into the world 6 weeks earlier than her parents were expecting, they were delighted with the extra time that they were given to get to know their beautiful daughter while in the NICU for those 6 weeks at St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth. Nora warmed the hearts of everyone who met her, and her mother often stretched to find ways to make talking about Nora relevant in the day's lesson while teaching her classes. The students in Mrs. Hall's 6th grade social studies class at Proctor Middle School were quite fond of her, and Mrs. Hall was more than happy to comply when they asked for a recent picture or video of her. Somehow, Nora always managed to find herself as a vocabulary term with a different definition for each chapter of the text. Nora's parents wish to express their gratitude to their family, friends, coworkers and complete strangers who showed them such kindness and support through all of Nora's health ordeals. They also wish to express their gratitude to all of the staff at Children's Hospital who were so kind and caring with Nora and her family in her last days. Nora was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandfather, Donald Rossley; paternal great-grandparents, Marilyn Kangas, Jean Hall and Jackie Hall and great-aunt, Penny Syversrud. Nora is survived by her parents, John and Mary; her basset hound siblings, Grumpy and Gracie; maternal grandparents Patricia and William Beckwell of McKinley, Minn.; paternal grandparents Laureen and John Hall of Eveleth; uncle Matthew Beckwell (Shane Young) of Minneapolis; aunt Kassandra Hall (Tucker Majerle) of Eveleth; godparents Erick and Emily Perala of Duluth; and great-grandparents, several great aunts and uncles and extended family.
