Olive Martineau

Olive "Lol" Martineau, age 90, Duluth, died April 6, 2015 in Safe Harbor at the Benedictine Health Center. She was born in Duluth on December 22, 1924, to Albert and Lada Poissant. Olive was a graduate of St. Jean's Catholic School and later married Harold "Marty"Martineau on September 20, 1950, in Duluth. She had worked in the office at Pickens-Mather for many years. Olive was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church. She enjoyed fishing, camping, knitting, crafting and feeding the squirrels and birds. Olive was also an excellent baker and cook. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters Genevieve Slatten and Dorothy Poissant, brother Albert Poissant, Jr. and sister in law Edith Musolf and her husband Charles "Chap"Musolf. Olive is survived by her sister Lorraine Poissant, nephews Ken Slatten, Tom(Louise)Slatten and Rick(Debbie)Slatten, nieces Phyllis(Peter)Ciurleo, Hope(David)Solomon and Dawn(Art)Rask, all of Duluth, nieces Cynthia, Charlotte and Debbie, all of Washington State and many great and great-great nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their gratitude for the loving care shown to Olive and her family during her stay at Safe Harbor, BHC. Visitation 10AM until the 11AM Mass of Christian Burial Friday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 2410 Morris Thomas Road, Duluth. Burial at Calvary Cemetery, Duluth. Memorials to Safe Harbor, BHC, in care of the family, are preferred. Arrangements by Williams-Lobermeier-Boettcher Funeral Home.
