Rodger Anthony Parendo, 72, of West Duluth, died Tuesday, November 9, 2021 in his home. Rodger was born on July 1, 1949 in Duluth to Carl and Lucille (Marnich) Parendo. He was a graduate of Denfeld High School and married Cheryl Nelson in Las Vegas on August 18, 1975. Rodger retired from the Post Office in 2010 after 42 years of service, where he worked as a mail handler. He attended Asbury United Methodist Church. Rodger loved car rides to all ends of Duluth with his wife; getting together with friends for the Friday night Supper Club; walks and attending his kids and grandchildren’s sporting events. Rodger loved listening to music, especially Elvis Presley. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Janice Barr and two brothers, Vernon and Gordon. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl; two daughters, Paula (Bruce) Carlson of Hermantown and Missy (Jason) Finnelly of Duluth; two grandchildren, Sam Carlson and Allison Finnelly; a brother, Dennis (Sharon) Parendo of Duluth; a sister-in-law, Jane (Irvin) Hagen; many nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation 10 am until the 11 am memorial service Monday, November 22, 2021 in Williams Lobermeier Boettcher Funeral Home. Pastor Katherine Cornell officiating. Masks are required.
