Ronald J. Tomshack, 68, of Duluth, passed away peacefully after a brief battle with cancer, Wednesday, March 18, 2020.
He was born in Duluth to Cecil and Miriam, on February 22, 1952.
He loved his plants and graduated from technical school in horticulture.
He worked in the print shop for many years for St. Louis County where he made many great friends. He retired from the county in 2018. His fondest memories are of working at Bentleyville where he was the man in the red suit. He also worked at the Lake Superior Zoo as a volunteer in the barnyard. He had lots of stories about the goats and their different personalities. Ron was also retired from the Navy Reserves. He put in four years of active duty in the Coast Guard. He was incredibly proud of his military service.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Richard, and nephew, Rick.
Ron is survived by, loving wife, Mary; son, Mark, siblings, Carolyn Linsten, Connie (Randy) Tafs, Robert (Suz) Tomshack; special cousin, Debbie Cossin; numerous nieces, nephews,and other family and friends.
The family would like to thank St. Lukes, oncology and hospice department, for their compassionate care of him.
In lieu of flowers or memorials the family would like contributions to veteran charitable organizations.
