Roy C. Sundin, 94, Duluth, joined his loving wife of 67 years in Heaven on Friday Oct. 23, 2015 at Viewcrest Health Center.He was born in Brunswick, Minn., on March 28, 1921 to Olaf and Emma Sundin. Roy was an Army Air Forces Veteran of World War II, serving in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater of Operations as a heavy truck driver. After the war, he worked at U.S. Steel for 30 years. He then worked at the City Hall for several years before retiring. He married Twylla Peabody on Jan. 13, 1947. He was an active member of Apostolic Gospel Church for 34 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, sitting back in his easy chair doing crossword puzzles, reading Westerns and war novels and also solving Suduko puzzles. Roy is preceded in death by his parents; wife Twylla; sister Ruby Linskie; brother Fred "Slim" Sundin. He is survived by his children Darcy (Julie), Duluth, Paula (Greg) Baich, of Bovey, Minn.; grandchildren, Angela (Michael) Trader, of Texas, Kevin Tobin, of Colorado, Kelly (Joe) Borash, of Duluth, Kacie (Jim) Doherty, of Wisconsin, Sara Peterson, of Coon Rapids, great-granddaughter, Madelyn Trader of Texas; great-grandsons Calvin Borash, of Duluth, Archer Doherty, of Wisconsin and sister MaryAnn Lahde, of Duluth. VISITATION: 12 Noon until the 1 p.m. Funeral service Monday Oct. 26, 2015 in Apostolic Gospel Church, 3882 Haines Road, Duluth. Burial at Oneota Cemetery. Military Honors accorded by the Combined Duluth Honorguard. Williams-Lobermeier-Boettcher Funeral home is entrusted with final care.
