Sandra "Sandy" L. Olson

We are sad to announce that on September 29, 2022, at the age of 80, Sandy Olson (Mpls., Mn.) passed away. Sandy was born June 24, 1942 in Duluth, Mn. She enjoyed a long career, mainly working for Hennepin County Social Services. Sandy had a passion for traveling and gathering with her close friends to enjoy a good meal. One of Sandy’s favorite trips was to Egypt to visit the Pyramids. We were fortunate to spend her 80th birthday with her in Utah and Yellowstone National Park. Sandy spent many weekends in Duluth visiting her brother Russ. She also enjoyed taking a myriad of classes from the University of Minnesota. She graduated from the Main U with a degree of Bachelor of Arts in Art History in the College of Liberal Arts in 2013. Sandy is survived by her brother, Russ Olson Jr. of Duluth, Mn. She is also survived by her brother, Rod (Brenda) Olson; nephew, Dex (Alicia) Olson, their two sons, Finn and Walker; and her niece, Sadie (Dean) Ekker; and their two sons, Blake and Dane, all of Utah. Sandy is preceded in death by her father, Russell K. Olson and mother, Lucille M. Olson both of Duluth. We would like to recognize her cousin, Peggy Anderson and friends, Becky Nye, Sue Pirk, Audrey Harms and Dawn Elder and others for all the help and companionship they provided to Sandy over the years. We will miss Sandy’s fun and energetic spirit, her kindness and generosity.

A Visitation will be held at Williams Lobermeier Boettcher Funeral Home, 3208 W. 3rd St., Duluth, Mn. 55806, on Monday, October 10, 2022 from 12:30pm to 1:30pm. With a Time of Sharing beginning at 1:30pm.  Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery, 4798 Miller Trunk Highway, Hermantown, Mn.
