Sophie Anderson

Sophie (Greski) Anderson, 104, of Duluth, went to be with Jesus on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Chris Jensen Health and Rehabilitation Center. Sophie was born on April 26, 1914 to Stanes and Mary (Pivon) Greski in Split Rock Township, Minn. Sophie loved the Lord and last attended Prince of Peace church. She loved going for breakfast on Saturday morning and then for a long ride. She drove until she was 97 years old. Sophie was mostly a stay at home mom but when the children got older she worked for Rudolph furniture, New China Café and National Tea Bakery. She loved her children and grandchildren and enjoyed getting together with them. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her son Donald in 1960; husband Richard in 1970; grandson Monty Anderson in 2004; nine sisters and seven brothers. Sophie is survived by her children: Richard (Laura), Shirley (Robert) Truscott and Dorothy (Clarence) Carlson; daughter-in-law Judy Anderson; ten grandchildren; 25 great and 35 great-great-grandchildren; sisters Verna Martichuski and Pauline Payzant; brother Stanley Greski; and nieces and nephews. Visitation: Wednesday, May 2, 2018 from 10 AM until the 11 AM funeral service at Williams-Lobermeier-Boettcher Funeral Home. Burial will be at Westside Cemetery in Kettle River, Minn.
