Susan Rose (Beck, Carlson) Medlin

Susan Medlin, of Duluth, passed away on March 10, 2024. She was born on November 26, 1939 to Margaret and Roy Beck. She was a 1957 graduate of St. Jean’s High School. She was married to Delbert Carlson until his passing in 1976 and was then married to Bill Medlin until his passing in 2006.

In her youth, Susan was a very proud member of The Duluth Accordionaires. She traveled extensively with the group and won many awards and trophies. She worked for many years at Skelgas. She loved the Lord and her church, St. Lawerence Catholic Church. She enjoyed knitting and baking and always looked forward to lunches out and phone conversations with her friends. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.

She was a resident for the last month at Edgewood Vista in Hermantown.

Susan is loved and will be missed by her son, Steve (Theresa/Terry) Carlson; granddaughter, Andrea (Jay) Carlson; great-grandchildren, Ashleigh (Sam), Jaylyn, Phoenix, Sophia, Boston, Scarlett, and Emma. She is also survived by her nieces and nephew, Therese, Annie and Carl; and her many good and loving friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Del and Bill; sister, Nona Sulentich; niece, Suzie Sulentich; and her loving grandson, Jake Carlson. A wonderful reunion was awaiting her.

At Susan’s request, there will be no funeral services. The family will hold a private memorial service for her.
