Wallace V. "Wally" Hiller, 76, of Hermantown, died Thursday, August 7, 2014 in Superior View Assisted Living. Wally was born on February 7, 1938 to Frank and Mabel (Anderson) Hiller in Grayling, MN. Wally lived in McGregor, Tamarack and Aitkin before moving to the Duluth area. He married Janice Gerads on October 26, 1968 in Duluth. In his earlier years, Wally sailed on the Great Lakes, was a cook at The Flame Restaurant, Northland Country Club and the Neon Parrott. He retired from Jeno's where he was the prep room superintendent. Wally was a member of Peace in Christ Lutheran Church, Lake Head Harvest Reunion, volunteered with the Handi Hands at the Damiano Center and helped seniors with lawn care. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, the Proctor Races and loved animals. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Janice; three children, Daniel Hiller of Hermantown, Darla Hiller of Waldorf, MN, and Dawn Hiller of Duluth; two grandchildren, Matthew Hiller Nelson and Sabrina L Hiller. Visitation will be from 1 until the 2 p.m. funeral service Monday, August 11, 2014 in the Peace in Christ Lutheran Church, 5007 Maple Grove Road. Burial in Sunrise Cemetery.
